I just completed a fun project and thought I would share the process here. MY client was tasked with creating a tshirt for an Association – The North Carolina Basketweavers Association – which is having their convention in Wilmington in November, but wanted to get started early. They provided a rudimentary mock up of what they wanted (on the left) and the final product (right):
My client had me create several other layouts (see below) to give them a choice. In order to create the weave patterns in the surfboard, sails and ocean (in layouts below), I purchased a vector weave image which included 4 different weave patterns. I took each weave, resized, recolored, and placed them in the sails, ocean and surfboard using a power clip effect (placing one image into a predefined, closed line object). The customer also wanted weave tails trailing from the surfboard imitating a basket weave project still in process. The convention members number approximately 900, so it should be a nice size job for my client. Her client, the NCBA, was very pleased with the final product!
Other layouts my client had me create for her customer:

The contest is complete!! A tota of 237,774 votes/views at http://www.frstcharities.org for the inaugural NC Fire Fighters 2012 calendar. In other terms, that’s over one quarter MILLION votes! The contest ran for approximately one month from August 17th thru September 19th. There was some fierce competition, but a fire chief that solicited votes from 4 states, J.R. Beard, was the clear frontrunner with over 41,000 votes!! We, Anne Showalter, the organization’s founding member and I did not expect so much traffic. But clearly, everyone likes a contest!!
Here is the cover of the new 2012 NC Firefighters Calendar.
